Residents also complete a weekly half-day ambulatory medicine experience in the hospital's urban Internal Medicine Clinic at the Frankford campus. Hometown: New HampshireMedical School: UNECOM. The didactic program consists of monthly journal clubs and 5 dedicated and protected hours of weekly academic conferences that include faculty presentations from various Internal Medicine resources, subspecialty guest lecturers, resident presentations, osteopathic manipulation review and medicolegal seminars. Monthly patient information sessions are held by the residents to educate the Clinic patients about common medical topics, like tobacco cessation and diabetes. No 24 hour call. I also wanted a residency that emphasizes education and clinical experience. The Attendings and Residents genuinely care about each other which allows for a great, supportive, learning environment.
People here are not only incredible clinicians, but more importantly, they are supportive and come with a sense of humility and humor when necessary. All of the medical staff here is very welcoming and always seizes every opportunity to teach. Resident's career goals range from Hospitalist Medicine, Ambulatory Medicine, and Fellowships including ICU, Cardiology, Infectious Disease, GI and many others. I would do it all over again. Residents rotate at three campuses (Torresdale, Frankford, and Bucks) to manage a diverse range of patients, pathology, disease processes, and treatments.
