When I reached the town of Grosseto, I stopped at a McDonald’s for a one-euro chocolate milkshake, a restroom break, and to have them fill up my bag of ice so I could enjoy my evening ritual of an ice-cold Diet Pepsi/Coke after putting up the tent. I finally started repacking my bags and taking down and putting away my tent, sleeping bag, and sleeping mat for what would be the last time, after five weeks on the road.
I also inquired about using the same SIM in my unlocked iPhone, and the nice guy working at the store added the one-week iPhone data plan, which normally costs 3 euros, to my account for free! XLIII: Holmes • This was not a place to hang out and write and my cellular internet wasn’t working, so I retreated to my tent, exhausted from the day of climbing, but looking forward to the planned short 36 miles to Pisa and then a rest day after that.
